The World’s Oldest Rodeo is Celebrating 130 Years!

Attracting visitors from all over the world, Prescott Arizona’s premium event, the Prescott Frontier Days and World’s Oldest Rodeo, is unquestionably one of the most popular and well-known events in Arizona. Celebrating its 130th year, there will be eight incredible shows held from June 28th to July 4th, 2017.

This year’s event theme is“Legends Live Among Us” and will feature and honor many rodeo superstars of the past and present. Prescott Frontier Days, Inc. will be using images of these legendary performers who have lived here in Prescott, or have become big names in rodeo by their successes at this event, to honor them.

Kicking off the Frontier Days on June 28th, will be the annual rodeo dance, which will be held this year at the BMO Harris Bank parking lot at the corner of Sheldon and Montezuma in downtown Prescott. Then, leading the annual Frontier Days Parade as grand marshal will be world-champion and legendary saddle bronc rider, Monty Henson, known by his fans as “Hawkeye Henson”!

Other events include the Kiwanis Kiddie Parade and Happy Hearts Rodeo for Exceptional Children, as well as a three day Arts & Crafts Fair in the downtown courthouse square and a Sunday spiritual worship experience called Cowboy Church at the Rodeo Grounds.
