ADOT’s Motor Vehicle Division distributed more than $6.5 million in 2015 to Charity
Specialty License Plates offered by FooteWork Auto License and Title don’t just look cool on your car as you show your allegiance to your favorite sports team or cause, they raise millions of dollars for charities. 389,536 specialty plates on Arizona vehicles raised more than $6.5 million for nonprofits and charities. Way to go ADOT!
“We’re pleased to be a facilitator for people to give to their favorite charity,” Motor Vehicle Division Director Eric Jorgensen said. “The specialty license plate program is a great way to personalize your vehicle and support great causes.”
Top License Plates for 2015
The Arizona Cardinals plate was 2015’s top plate, raising $1,087,677 for Cardinals Charities and its many beneficiaries. Next were two plates benefiting the Arizona Veterans’ Donation Fund that supports veterans and their families: Veterans, raising $1,051,093, and Freedom/Military Support, raising $521,424.
60 Specialty Arizona License Plates
State laws created the specialty license plate program in Arizona and now there are 60 such license plates. Those that are not associated with any nonprofit or charity include plates for historic and classic vehicles in addition to plates supporting public service like amateur radio operators. Laws in 2015 created specialty license plates featuring USMC, Firefighter Safety Training, the AZ Cardinals and others.
